I had a piece accepted in the Bellamy Mansion Community Art Show…and a chance to be a vendor at the Brooklyn Arts Center. Thanks to all the family and friends that came out to support me!
19 years isn’t nearly enough. Will miss this little kitty every day. We gave him the best last day before we said goodbye. Stroller time down on the Riverwalk, some sunshine beach napping, and spending time with Milky and little Leo. At least now he can be with his brother, Scooter, again.
Thank you so much to September K. and the Cameron Museum of Art for asking me to lead your January Art Buzz event! We had so much fun creating fun mixed media fashion illustrations! WARNING: Shameless plug for The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron ahead! A year ago I began a months long professional development with my district to earn Literacy credits. I had no idea how much this book study would impact my life. It's a year later and I am still getting up an hour early every day to hand write three pages in my journal (morning pages),still taking time for an 'artist date' with myself each week, and also still doing a weekly check-in with myself where I take stock of my week, my growth, my setbacks...whatever comes up. One thing that I am especially proud of is that this has allowed me to reclaim my old sketchbooks from college. Every time I took a new course in undergrad I would buy a new sketch book...one for ceramics, metals, my different studies in textiles, painting, etc. It never failed- I would begin the sketch book and then...crickets. Nothing. Blank pages. In all of our moves over the years I have brought those sketch books along with me, feeling guilty knowing about those blank pages- even though it didn't matter to anyone but me. I decided to reclaim those blank pages by using them for my morning pages...now I am running out of old sketchbooks- a problem I am happy to have! Anyway, I highly recommend reading this book! ![]() |
