My November series is an ode to my favorite color...LEOPARD!
(and don't argue with me, leopard is my favorite color. PeriodTTT.) It's no secret- I love an excuse to create a DIY Lewwwkkkk. Case in point- HALLOWEEN! Last year we were in San Diego for Halloween and we threw together some Game of Thrones costumes day of- and from thrift shop and random things we found. This year John and I were invited to the band director's Halloween party, so I decided to make one of my daily art pieces come to life! (Left) my sketch...which was basically me planning out what I wanted to create (Right) The finished 'shoulder piece'. My friend Jason Basden is my sculpture guru- I ask him any time I have a 3D question. He recommended using this spray foam used in construction to create the 'spilled witches brew' that I wanted to have cascading over my shoulder- and it worked! I wore black sequined gown under it, plopped it on my shoulder, threw on my wig and hat and I was good to go! Erin and I did an outing- an opening at the Cornell Museum of Art-
dressed to blend in...obviously! Excited to be a part of the Dia de los Muertos celebration in Lake Worth! Jose from Hatch 1121 reached out to Brent and I at the beginning of the school year about having our LWHS art student participate in the exhibit and the larger community event- at the same time one of the Spanish teachers at school contacted us about a celebration for Hispanic Heritage Month at school. So we did BOTH! Click here to see more pics! What can I say? When I am sewing I can't be typing! SO MUCH to tell you fine folks about...hoping to get some time to update the blog with all the fun happenings. In the meantime, please remember that my Instagram and Facebook pages are ALWAYS up to date. I am talking like, the SECOND that it happens it is on one of those two platforms...my blog not so much...but I do love to sit and ramble when I have time so this blog ain't go nowhere anytime soon!- Jenny
