![]() Today's art was inspired by my art friend, Lisa Perz, also known as the Coma Girl. I met first Lisa when I was participating in the Art Nouveau group art shows in West Palm Beach about two years ago. I loved her work and she was super nice, so I have been following her work on social media pretty much since then. I am inspired by her brightly colored, whimsical creations featuring large-eyed ladies and cute critters. Her work is just so fun an it makes me smile and she is ALWAYS WORKING! So when I saw that she was going to be at Art Rock I knew I had to stop by her table and update my accessory collection with some new pieces. I should also add that earlier that morning my friend Jessie let me borrow her copy of Steal Like an Artist...one of the chapters mentioned writing a fan letter to someone you admire. Well...instead, I made art because I am definitely a fan of Lisa's! ...and it still fits the theme of 'decoration', at least I think so. Wait...lemme check... When I think about Lisa's work I think about how she creates these pieces that not only decorate walls (her prints and paintings) but also the home (her night lights, etc) and...well...people! (jewelry, key chains, etc) So then...I was thinking maybe I would do some more fan art inspired by women that I feel make the world a more beautiful place...not sure yet...could be the direction of the remainder of the series...
